Dr. Brian Appavu is a dedicated clinician, educator, and researcher with expertise in pediatric neurology and neurocritical care. With board certifications in child neurology, epilepsy, and neurosonology, he is among a rare group of neurologists pioneering advanced neurophysiologic monitoring for critically ill children. At Phoenix Children’s Hospital, he combines continuous EEG, transcranial Doppler ultrasound, and other multimodal techniques to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Appavu is also a highly regarded teacher, providing regular training sessions for residents, fellows, and ICU nursing staff. Outside his professional work, he enjoys hiking Arizona’s landscapes and performing jazz drumming.
