  • Recently, multiple AI solutions have democratized access to large language models (LLM), accelerating their adoption in biomedical research. However, little is known about their application trends and outcomes—i.e., potential and limitations.

  • To provide comprehensive synthesis on LLM biomedical applications since the public advent of ChatGPT (OpenAI, San Francisco, US).

  • A systematic review and meta-analysis (SR/MA) according to PRISMA guidelines.
