  Recently, multiple AI solutions have democratized access to large language models (LLM), accelerating their adoption in biomedical research. However, little is known about their application trends and outcomes—i.e., potential and limitations.

  To provide comprehensive synthesis on LLM biomedical applications since the public advent of ChatGPT (OpenAI, San Francisco, US).

  A systematic review and meta-analysis (SR/MA) according to PRISMA guidelines.
